Story
Our beautiful friend Jess lost her four year battle to depression in September 2016. Jess had the biggest heart - she always put others before herself. She was the light in every room!!!
We hope that "Team Jess" can raise money to help each individual suffering mental illness - the money raised will help fund research to ensure sufferers get the support they need.
We hope that mental illness can lose its stigma so that individuals can speak freely about their battle.
Team jess wants everyone to be able to experience life like they deserve!
We encourage others to get on board this special cause - whether it's running with us for the GOR marathon - starting at 1.5kms, 6kms, 14kms, 23kms, 44kms or even 60kms - every race can make a difference! If you can't run with us then donating a dollar or two would be amazing ! Both of these will help bring awareness for mental illness.

The Black Dog Institute is a not-for-profit organisation and world leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental illness such as depression, bipolar disorder and suicide.
We are the only mental health facility in Australia that combines clinical services, high quality translational research and education programs. We work to empower communities and help the stigma surrounding mental illness.
The Black Dog Institute has 4 important goals:
to diagnose mental illness accurately and early,
treat them using innovative, effective and accessible strategies,
prevent their onset by understanding why and who they affect
to reduce the overall impact of mental illness and save lives.
